Episode 4.3 Fall Into Winter Story!
Words and photos by The Red Knight
Besides the obvious anticipation for the first snowfall, the TC crew has been especially excited about the 2011-2012 season for the return of Garrett Russell. Garrett had been absent for all of last year’s episodes because of ACL surgery he had in October of 2010.

Unfortunately, in some sort of weird plot twist, Traveling Circus front man Andy Parry has switched places with Garrett on the disabled list this season, succumbing to the same terrible fate that sidelined Garrett last winter. Long story short: Andy blew his knee out this past fall, jumping over a fence. (See episode for details)

Andy’s hair sock: years of shaving only his upper leg for personal style, finally has a practical purpose.

A rare moment of organization in the van. Kinda.
So Andy had surgery, we drove to Montana, slept in the base lodge. LJ ran a marathon, ate a spicy chicken sandwich, and went skiing – all in the same day.

After finishing a marathon LJ only ate half this orange slice and demanded McDonalds.
Ian came back to Utah for a bit, Thanksgiving was delicious, and we drove the van to Lake Tahoe to hang out with Garrett, twice. 5. Ian flew out to Utah for a few weeks.

Utah’s fall colors really bring the best out in the van’s graphics.
And now, here’s episode 4.3 of Line Traveling Circus, Fall Into Winter…
TC Europe – France Park Day!
The day started with Leo T dropping some crazy line and being followed by a few flying men (footage coming in the episode) ten heading up to the Val Park for a nice week ending session with everyone in the sun. Enjoy the pics!

TC Europe – La Plange Skatepark Action
Cloudy day up on the hill today so we took a drive down the valley and then up the 24+ switchbacks up to La Plange which was above the clouds (sort of). We were told about a nice skatepark to maybe build some stuff at. Build we did and fun we had. Enjoy the pics.

TC Europe – Real Skiing on Real Mountains
We had enough of running into walls or sliding down banisters for a few days and got up on the hill. It had snowed a bunch and finally went blue! If it’s snowing there’s basically no reason to go up the mountain because you can’t see anything. Enjoy the pics!

Running into walls and shizz
Today (and night) we got after it jumping into a wall with help from the Red Bull winch. Roy, Niklas and Andy killed it with the MVP of the session going to Tobi Mangold, our 16 year old Line rider who came with the guys from Germany to take part in the fun. Check Tobi’s blog post here. Mix in some urban scouting and site seeing in Tignes and it was a full day of good time. Enjoy the pics!

LINE Traveling Circus Episode 3.3 This is Stupid
Spending eight hours pushing a 250 lb. box up a hill, eating week old pasta while living in a van or flipping through a small hole in tree branches. Episode three documents the some of the most dazed, ill-advised and stupid ways to have fun on skis.
Day 3 – Euro-urabano
Well after looking at the big mountains all around us and gawking at the plentiful walls, rails and bonks we could run ourselves into we decided to get to work. The Urban Canyon of Mystery was stop one for a nice line into the canyon throwing you into a double wall ride/bonk/horrific crash. Finshing the daylight with Andy sliding down some cement, gettgin yelled at by a nice French woman and getting barked at by her French dog. Tonight we’ll return to the urban madness with some new jibs we’ve created and might fire up the Red Bull winch..sooo Red Bull!!!! Enjoy the pics!

Day 2 – Urban Scouting
This place is surrounded by giant mountains and is the biggest interconnected ski area in the world. What you didnt knwo is there is millions of possibilities for urban! To get acclimated to our surroundings what better to do than checked out some urban spots Leo T and the Gypsy Feelin Crew have built over the years. More to come! Enjoy the pics.
Euro Trip – Day 1
After about 24 hours of traveling into the future (we’re 8 hours ahead of PST) we’ve made it to Europe! We’re posted up in Val d’Isere, France for the week with our gracious host and fellow Line ride Leo Taillefer for the Gpsy Feelin crew. Along with other Line Europe rider Roy Kittler, Niklas Erikson and Tobi Mangold. Throw in the guys from Downdays.eu and we have a recipe for fun. Enjoy the pics!
